Candy Update

As many of you  know, Sarris is changing their candy bar fundraising program. Many have expressed concern that it will be  difficult to sell a $2 bar even though the size of the bar and the profit has  increased. The profit on the bars is  going from $12/box to $28/box. All of  the flavors will remain in the fundraising line. I contacted Andy’s  Candies in Bavington regarding their program and here is how their program  operates. They offer 3 items for their  fundraising line… Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods (2/pk…full-sized rods),  Chocolate Covered Oreos (2/pk) and a Nutty Bar (a chocolate bar with  peanuts). Each of these items sell for  $1 each and your child’s ISA will earn $14-$15 per box (depending on how much of  the profit is required to go to the boosters). Each flavor comes in cases of 30. So while the  profit appears to be smaller on Andy’s, do you feel it is easier to sell a $1  piece of candy?
Please bring your  thoughts to the next boosters meeting on Monday May 20th. I appreciate your feedback and we’ll go with  the program that the majority desires.

I think it is MUCH easier to sell a $1 piece of candy, so what you may lose in profit per box, you make up in quantity by selling more full boxes of the products. The nutty bars and oreos were a HUGE hit at my workplace!
