Banquet - TBD Uniform Socks - All band members must wear long black socks with their uniform for every performance. Due to the high demand from students who forget to bring black socks, we will now offer socks for purchase, charged as ISA deductions only. The cost will be $5 for the first pair and $10 for each subsequent pair. This measure aims to encourage students to bring their own socks. Additionally, ISA deductions will be communicated to the parent/guardian to ensure awareness. At the first game, the uniform committee distributed our own spare socks at no cost, but this has become unsustainable with our current count of 178 students. We have already advised students during camp to keep an extra clean pair in their garment bag. Your cooperation is essential to ensure all students are adequately prepared for each game. Black Bags - Each band member will be given a black cinch sack bag courtesy of the Band, also known as Mr. Fox. Each bag will bear the name of the student. This bag should be used exclusively to transport the provided water and snack and is the only bag permitted for use when traveling to and from games. Game Day Snacks - Please ensure you eat before arriving. No outside food, snacks, or drinks are allowed. Snacks will be provided by the band boosters for all games, such as pretzels and water, unless Mr. Fox states otherwise (for instance, during our Cavalcade Festival). To safeguard our costly uniforms, students are not permitted to visit concession stands or bring other foods during games. We appreciate your cooperation in not providing additional snacks or food for the students. Booster Mtg. - The next Band & Guard parent meeting is scheduled for 9/11 at 7:00 PM in the high school cafeteria. This will be a hybrid meeting; please look for the Teams link if you prefer to join the meeting virtually. Website - For more information, including an FAQ section, meeting minutes, forms, by-laws, and more, please visit westamarchingpride.com. Our calendar is also updated with all our information. Thank you, Webmaster Kristen Bardelli. Report Times - All report times, as up-to-date as possible, are noted in the event schedule below & above. The previously distributed schedule is attached for your records. Should there be any changes, they will be communicated through Remind (Mr. Fox). Monday, May 27th is Memorial Day. The marching band will perform "School's Out" in Oakdale. Call time is 8:45, parade is at 10 AM, we will be returning to the high school around 10:30 for pickup. Rookies are not yet ready to march in a parade, so this includes all current members, including seniors. If you are in town, you are expected to be there. Wear black shorts and blue disney shirts. If you do not have a disney shirt, wear a powder/baby/sky blue shirt.
Tuesday, May 28th is our next "Give It A Try" practice (band only) from 3 - 5:30 PM. Wednesday, June 5th is our last "Give It A Try" practice (band, guard and dance) from 6 - 8:30 PM. After this practice, we will be on break until Thursday, July 25th.
