WA MARCHING PRIDE 2023 CAVALCADE CANDY GRAMS
The time has come for us to celebrate our WA Marching Pride Students! This is an easy way to
show your support for them with a CAVALCADE CANDY GRAM. Candy grams are small
messages and candy (or non-candy) treats that can be purchased for members of the marching band and color guard. Many parents, grandparents, friends, etc. send messages such as,"We're so excited to see you perform with the band tonight. Love, Pap and Gram". It is also an easy way for rookies to thank their seniors, or others who have helped welcome them into the Marching Pride, and for friends to recognize one another. The students will receive their candy grams at the conclusion of Cavalcade. Please support your band/guard members in this way!
Conservative quantities of the candies being offered have already been purchased, and all
efforts will be made to fulfill the orders as indicated. However substitutions may need to be
made, so thank you in advance for your understanding if that occurs. Due to price increases,
this year the Pringles option will be the original flavor only of the Snack Stacks. New this year
will be the option to send a “Lucky Ducky” to a band member. As an assortment of 2” rubber
ducks will be purchased, there will not be an option to choose the particular type of rubber
duck for the recipient. Students are welcome to trade rubber ducks after Cavalcade.
These candy grams will be filled in advance of Cavalcade and students/parents WILL NOT be
able to purchase them at Cavalcade at the pre-order price of $1. Please submit all your candy
gram orders into the grey box by the end of practice on Monday, September 18th. I will also
accept pre-orders at the parent booster meeting on Wednesday, September 20th.
An order form is attached for you to simply print, fill out and cut apart. Please be sure to put
the recipient’s FIRST AND LAST names on the form, no nicknames please (we don't want any
confusion about who is supposed to get the order, but abbreviated first names are ok – Kate forKatherine, for example). The price is $1 for each candy or Lucky Ducky you choose during this“pre-order” time only. Purchases can be made with cash or check. Checks are payable to
West Allegheny Marching Band, or simply WAMB. Include the forms with payment in an
envelope marked "CANDY GRAMS" with your student’s name on it and return it to the grey boxin the band room. Including your student’s name on the envelope allows me to contact you inthe event there is a question regarding your order. For example, if you are uncertain of
someone’s last name, you can include a note with your orders – Jeffrey in the trumpet section.
I will likely be able to figure out who this is, but if not, I can contact you for more details.
Middle school students can drop these off in the grey box on the nights that band practice is
held.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact Susan Betta at susanbetta@gmail.com.
